A month ago I started Christmas shopping. I bought the youngest three kiddos Heely's. J-man has wanted Heely's for YEARS and has been very vocal about letting us know. I found each pair for $14, but sizes were limited. No problem. I just bought 2 sizes up from where they were a month ago.
This last weekend, M kept complaining about his shoes. Perry finally convinced me to go buy him some new shoes. J-man and Little Miss were with me so I let J-man try on shoes too.
Imagine my surprise when both of them needed shoes 2 sizes bigger than they had on!
The three younger kiddos are now the proud owner's of Heely's!!

Life's Changes
After 9 years of homeschooling, Perry and I have decided to put the kiddos in public school next year. It is a HUGE life change for the kids and I, but we are embracing it with open arms as a new adventure in this thing we call Life.
I see the Lord's hand at work here over and over as I put the wheels in motion to make this work. Prayers are certainly welcome as we meet with three different principal's in the next week.

I love my mommy.
Today, I interviewed Little Miss. I completely stole the questions from another blog which I don't know how to link. I loved her answers.
1. What is something mommy always says to you? I love you.
2. What makes mommy happy? Um. Having her kids happy.
3. What makes mommy sad? Sad shows.
4. How does your mommy make you laugh? Telling jokes and tickling me.
5. What did your mommy like to do when she was a child? Um…um…..wanting to get kids.
6. How old is your mommy? 29
7. How tall is your mommy? 7 inches
8. What is her favorite thing to watch on TV? Watching scary shows without us.
9. What does your mommy do when you're not around? Cry
10. If your mommy becomes famous, what will it be for? Make her kids happy.
11. What is your mommy really good at? Making her kids happy.
12. What is your mommy not very good at? Um. Sledding.
13. What does your mommy do for her job? She works a lot.
14. What is your mommy 's favorite food? Mexican
15. What makes you proud of your mommy? Her having kids and loving us.
16. If your mommy were a cartoon character, who would she be? Um…is a princess a cartoon character? Okay, a princess.
17. What do you and your mommy do together? We go and do lots of fun things.
18. How are you and your mommy the same? We have the same eyes and nose and chin and cheeks and kind of the same hair.
19. How are you and your mommy different? I don’t have blonde hair and my mommy does.
20. How do you know your mommy loves you?
She gives me kisses and says I love you and cuddles me a lot and makes the tears go away.
21. What does your mommy like most about your daddy? Because he’s her husband and they get to kiss and they were happy that they had kids.
22. Where is your mommy's favorite place to go? Go hiking up mountains and sledding and tubing at night.
Mommy kisses me sometimes and she makes us do lots of fun things and makes the tears go away and she’s really cool.

Randomness
I was correcting some of J-man's school work. He wasn't happy about doing it because it was Saturday. We were schooling through the weekend because Perry had to work.
I looked at J-man and said, very gently, "J-man, I can't actually tell where any of these lines connect to the answer."
His reply, "They don't. It's just a lot of randomness. I drew randomly because I was mad."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yesterday, Little Miss bit her tongue while sledding. By the time J brought her inside she had a mouth full of blood. She didn't bite a chunk off, for which I was thankful, but she did bite her tongue in two different spots quite deeply. Today her tongue looks very sore, but she is able to eat.
How To Circumvent the Rules of the House
Once Perry or I have given our final answer the kiddos are not allowed to argue their point and must accept our dictate. Sounds good, huh?
This was found in Perry's email. Presented in Powerpoint. I don't know how to post a link and can't get the Powerpoint to come up so I'll just copy/paste it. Imagine, however, getting a post from your son that says, "Hey, dad, please get on this link."
When dad opens the link he sees a Powerpoint presentation done with a dark grey background and bold, red lettering.
Title: REASONS WHY I SHOULD GET A PAINTGUN.
Reason 1:
I am a responsible 13 year old
I am a responsible 13 year old and that means that I can follow the rules and not disobey, or use in the wrong ways.
Reason 2:
I can obey the rules
I can obey the rules about the paint ball gun’s use and shooting.
Reason 3:
I can pay for my own
I can pay for my own paintball gun, CO2, and bullets. I don’t have to have you and mom paying for it .
Reason 4:
Who cares if we only have one gun
Who cares if we only have one gun and we most likely won’t because if I buy one Josh will probably buy one too and even if he doesn’t we can use it for target practice.
Reason 5:
I don’t get what is wrong with me having a paintball gun.
Reason 6:
We all can share 1 or we can buy more
It doesn’t matter.
Who cares if we have one or more, it is just cool to have one .
Conclusion:
Reasons that I should be able to get a paintball gun.
1.I am a responsible 13 year old.
2.I can obey the rules.
3.I can pay for my own.
4.Who cares if we only have one gun.
5.I don’t get what is wrong with me having a paintball gun.
6.We all can share one or buy more it doesn’t matter.
Perry told him that he received his email and we would re-visit our discussion. Perry and I then talked again and decided that, clearly, it meant a lot to him so with rules in place he could get one with his own money.
However, and I see the Lord so very often in these little tiny ways give the desires of our heart, about a week later I was ordering some airsoft pellets for the boys and noticed they now had airsoft paint pellets. I showed it to E and asked if he wanted me to order some to try out instead of a buying a paintball gun. He agreed. Whenever I order something online I do a Live search for a coupon code. I found a coupon online, put the code in and the paint pellets showed up as $1 per bottle instead of $9.95. I added a couple more to see if they would all be $1. They were. I then added 10 of each color, green and red, to my cart. They'll make a good Christmas present for the boys.
I haven't heard if E still wants to buy a paintball gun or if this is good enough. Either way, it is all good.
Password
Perry came to me, frustrated, after a day outside and inside of hard work. Apparently he doesn't know the password to the TIVO that is in our bedroom.
What struck me as hilariously funny is that all the way down to Little Miss all the kids know the password. ba, da, bang!
